From collagen to peptides
Peptan® is Rousselot’s collagen peptide brand. Enzymatic hydrolysis breaks collagen into smaller fragments. These peptides contain amino acids characteristic of collagen, including glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.
Research on the ingredient
The cited studies examine peptide digestion and absorption, and skin parameters. The skin studies by Asserin and colleagues used fish- or porcine-derived preparations: they are not clinical trials of this product.
Source, composition, amount and format matter. Read the original protocols to understand the findings: research on an ingredient does not guarantee the same results in every recipe.
